MWDistribution.org – Legit or Scam?

May 26, 2010 in Scams to stay away from

My best friend showed me a link to this website called MWDistribution.org. From what I understood, they are a distribution or dropship company which specializes in dropshipping products from their warehouses all over the United States. It seemed like a great website since they have logos of promising companies such as Dell, Sharp, Toshiba, Logitech, and all those big name electronic brands.

I signed up on their website, and the next day was contacted by a representative by the name of “Blake Edwards”. He contacted me and we talked for about 30 minutes about how the business will work. He told me that they are accepting only 50 members and so far have recruited 35. Once those members are filled, they will no longer be accepting anymore. The pre-requisites of joining this company’s “elite group” is to have a good standing eBay account with the right amount of feedbacks, and a good standing paypal account.

Now here’s what they told me according to the phone call. Since I was talking to “Blake Edwards”, I have already been reviewed to be accepted to get hired onto their company. Now I have the privilege of selling high ticket items on eBay ($1,000-$5,000 priced) for a fraction of the cost of the actual item. I will potentially be the only seller for that specific item, and will sell within a very short period of time.

Let’s say an item is listed on eBay for $5,000. I would be able to get that same exact item from MWDistribution for $1,200 and sell it for $2,000-$3,000 and pocket the rest of the change. In essence, this is how dropshipping works. As a very eager potential suspect, I told them that I wanted to do this deal and that I’m very interested. The only trick to this game, is that they want us eBay sellers to pay them through western union.

The thing about western unioin, is once you send your money out, there is no way of getting it back in case of a dispute. That is why it is very dangerous when sending out Western Union to people you don’t really know or trust. If I’m sending them $1,000-$5,000 Western Union each day for the products that I am selling on eBay, by the time it reaches the end of the week, I might have around $10,000-$30,000 in eBay “dropshipped products” that potentially “MIGHT not get to the destination” of the customer. Here’s why I said “MIGHT not get to their destination” :

As I was researching the MWDistribution.org website, I have found the results as they mentioned on those 3 sources. Now there haven’t been much review of this company since it’s supposedly “new”, but from my instincts, and my research, I have seen that I’m going to stay away from them.
